1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 contains three quick and to-the-point orders: rejoice always, pray continually, and give thanks in everything. These are short, simple, and straightforward commands, but they tell us a great deal about the will of God in three important areas of everyday life.

The simplicity of “Rejoice Always” is a theme of life for the client in which this stone was presented, and the wild nature of the stone, combined with the elegant natural gradient of grey to brown, seemed to perfectly encapsulate these words.

The limestone in which this carving took place was reclaimed from the beautiful Ohio Caverns. The unique background by which this stone came to be available means a side of it has the recognizable dimple marks, signifying it used to be the top of a cavern.
